Margaret Mead im your fan.

Hello everyone! Today i want to talk you about an anthropology´s expert ,a person i admire, Margaret Mead.Margaret Mead (1901-1978)was born in Philadelphia & her dead were in New York.Her father was an university's teacher & and her mother was an social's activist.Maybe for that reason she dedicate all her life on question gender stereotypes.She made a lot of investigations about this topic,above all in Oceania´s Islands,mainly due this locations were rather unexplored by western people.

She criticize the sexist biological approach on social sciences. Her first travel were in Polinesia. On 1928 she published her first book "Coming of age in Samoa",where she broked with old ideas like gender roles,sexuality & social's organitazion-talking about the importance of cultural facts on ages like teenage. Most of all,she vindicates on Anthropology an relativistic's approach -Franz Boas;cultural relativism- ,which consist in the basal importance of context.

I think i like her because she was an empowered women,she was very interested in change things like capitalism and patriarchy on western's society.When i listened this,i remember i was very interested with her tesis,because she revolutionize the scientific world with her interrogations about social's orders.
